In Indore, the district administration is in the process of granting land ownership rights to residents of 29 villages that were recently included in the municipal corporation limits. The expansion took place in 2014. Residents occupying residential land in these villages, or their heirs/transferees without a valid lease, can now apply for a lease under land holding rights. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav gave directives regarding this matter during a recent meeting in Indore.

Individuals owning land in these 29 villages within the municipal limits are facing challenges in selling their homes or securing loans for construction due to the absence of registration, lease, or other documents. To address this issue, these individuals can now apply for land holding rights based on a circular issued by the Revenue Department on September 24, 2020. Successful applicants will be granted a 30-year lease, allowing them to more easily obtain loans and sell or transfer their property when needed.

Camps will be set up at tehsil offices in Juni Indore, Malharganj, Rau, Bicholi Hapsi, and Kanadia on September 29, 2024, to receive applications. After verification, eligible beneficiaries will receive leases under land holding rights. SDM Rau Vinod Rathore mentioned that online applications for leases will be accepted at the camps and applicants must bring necessary documents such as utility bills, government correspondence related to the plot, property tax receipts, and voter list information.
